Mit ihm wird ein von der konkreten Führungssituation unabhängiges Verhaltensmuster des Vorgesetzten beschrieben. Es gibt die unterschiedlichsten Führungsstile. Eines der wichtigsten und ältesten Führungsmodelle ist der sogenannte Managerial Grid, das zweidimensionale Führungsgitter nach Robert Blake und Jane Mouton. Aufbauend auf den Ergebnissen der Ohio- Studien werden die zwei Führungsdimensionen „Personenorientierung“ (Concern for individuals) und „Aufgabenorientierung“ (Concern for construction) unterschieden und zum Kern des Verhaltensgitters. Außerdem waren Blake und Mouton der Meinung das Führen keine Eigenschaft oder ein Charakteristikum darstellt, sondern das Führen einen Prozess ist, der Einfluss auf die Mitarbeiter ausüben soll, damit diese die Unternehmensziele erreichen. Diesen Prozess soll guy durch Schulungen lehren und verbessern. Die Autoren entwickelten ein 6 Phasen- Schulungsprogramm in dem die Vorgesetzten für beide Dimensionen, die Aufgabenorientierung und die Personenorientierung, sensibilisiert werden sollen. Zur Erfolgskontrolle dient das Verhaltensgitter, in dem die Positionen vor und nach der Schulung festgestellt werden.

Thema dieser Hausarbeit ist die Beschreibung des Managerial Grid von Blake und Mouton, die Charakterisierung der wichtigsten Führungsstile, die Ziele des Grid-Modells sowie die kritische Auseinandersetzung mit diesem Führungsmodell mit einem abschließenden Fazit.
