As seen in the NEW YORK TIMES

The queen of guidebooks on European convent and monastery stays is Eileen Barish, the Santa Barbara, Calif., author of ‘Lodging in Spain’s Monasteries’ and similar books for Italy and France. Ms. Barish, whose book on Britain’s offerings is due out in February 2010, said she visited about a third to a half of the places she covers in each of her first three books, which also include information on nearby sites. ‘All of them are personally contacted,’ said Ms. Barish, who works with a researcher. In a news release, her publisher, Anacapa Press, calls convents ‘the secret of affordable European travel.’

I just contacted the Santa Ursula Augustinian Nuns in Toledo. You may want to know that Madre Teresa is in heaven, and they no longer offer accomodations. Apparently the sister my contact spoke with was not impressed with the call.
